Gentle yoga to improve strength and balance. This practice offers themes to foster resilience and compassion.
LYB friendly yoga is an adaptive, therapeutic yoga class for those with diverse range of motor abilities to reach their highest potential. Through the practice of gentle Hatha inspired yoga postures, the body is prepared for meditation through breath and physical exercises done on the mat or with a chair. Participants will develop improved breathing, movement, alignment and functioning of the mind-body relationship which has shown to alleviate anxiety, depression, everyday stress, post-traumatic stress and other stress-related medical illnesses. The goal of this class is to foster community, improve the health and wellness outcomes, to nurture self-esteem and independence, and reduce societal attitudes toward the differently abled community. An experienced LYB trained instructor certified in This modality of yoga therapy leads a 1 hour yoga/movement class that is adaptive, accessible, and inclusive.
